During the perinatal and postpartum period, women are vulnerable to mental health disorders. Primary care providers skilled at screening, diagnosing, treating mother for depression. However, anxiety demonstrates a greater prevalence rate appears be under-recognized under-treated, despite its increased prevalence. With frequent patient encounters during pregnancy in nurse practitioners have opportunity recognize treat and, as result, improve outcomes infant. This report describes anxiety, focusing on diagnosis, treatment, discusses evidence support nonpharmacologic approach of mindfulness treatment anxiety.
